Need to know companies or education centers that offer Search Engine Optimization courses.
You really do not have to take a course of SEO in order to have a basic understanding of what SEO can do. Here’s an article from Google which is self-explanatory:
The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as Google.com,
Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and
MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these
search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
very large Internet Yellow Pages.
Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using
such "generic" queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.
You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
at Google and Yahoo.
Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, “Who’s my end user - is he on dialup or
DSL?” And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
is best for them.
A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.
Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the “Description” which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.
And the very last category - “Keywords” are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
“Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.
Good luck!

It’s about to happen again!
Every month, like clockwork, the lookie-loos and tire-kickers get separated from the serious drivers, and the doors roll back on…
This incredible membership is about results- results that will put your business and websites on the map SO quickly, your head will spin. And it gets even BETTER this month…
The genuises at the BFSEO Labs decided that with all the hassles Vista was giving them, a minor housekeeping tweak of the program wasn’t enough: So They REWROTE it. From the Ground Up!
Yeah, that’s right- Brute Force is 100% Vista 64 compatible, and that’s just for starters…
Along the way they added a couple of features (just ’cause they could
that will absolutely Blow You Away.
Here’s just a sampling of what the massively powerful BFSEO Software did BEFORE this rewrite:
Builds an insanely powerful “Mini-Net” of websites on FREE services like Yahoo 360, GoogleKnol, Hubpages, etc., Eight in total…and these stick: you own them forever!
Then, the software automatically embarks on an insane adventure- magically linking these sites together, submitting content, RSS feeds, Videos, Bookmarks…
And Much, Much More: all on auto-pilot. And Now?
Add in an incredible Social Account Creation Module…the sensational Social Submitter Module…and the Insane Article Sourcer and DARE Modules (Top Secret- see these Inside!) and you’ve got a package that just TRIPLED in value, but it’s STILL just a Buck to try!
Fact: To do HALF of what Brute Force does FOR you by hand would take a week of manual, mind-numbing labor.
Brute Force get’s it done in Under An Hour.
Couple that with your private membership in the SEO Fight Club Forum- packed to the rafters with SEO Gurus and actual users of BFSEO all looking out for each other and helping you (including Your’s Truly ;-)…

And this membership just keeps gets stronger, richer, and more powerful by the DAY.
The quitters are leaving the building…and that opens slots for the people in the waiting line. 300 slots to be exact.
That’s IT. 300. Maybe a few less, we aren’t sure until we see how many poseurs bail.
The doors last opened on November 11th, and all the available slots were GONE, just like that. And the price went UP.
Just Like That.
This time around, the price is a bit higher…and the line is a little shorter. No BS scarcity ploy here- this is cold, hard fact. 62.8% of the people who join us STAY…and 92.5% of those RENEW.
Those numbers are SICK, my friend. Absolutely Unheard Of in this business.
So what does that tell you? Where are YOU going to be when the doors roll back? With me and the Winners?
I hope so…and here’s the BEST part.
You get to kick the tires of this bad machine for a full Seven (7) Days just like everyone else for One Measly Buck.
Don’t think it’s for you? Fine. Just cancel before your renewal date, and you will never be charged again. Simple and easy.
If you don’t expressly want to be there, hey…no one’s going to force you or make it hard on you to leave at all: just hit the door, Jack! Someone else will snap up your slot- the line goes around the building.
But if you have the gumption to see what’s going on here, I can almost guarantee that you’ll stay- in fact you will kick yourself for not getting in on the prior offers when they were available.
The Line Forms Here: Get your $1 trial offer now!
You can sign up for a preferred position right now- Pete will send you a private, exclusive email when the doors roll back, but you gotta get in line right now to secure the best place in line.
See you in the winner’s circle!
To Your Success,
Don

What is the best source for webmaster education and search engine optimization education that is affordable?

I have a new website at
http://www.specialhomeproducts.com
Check it out! I have many new home decor and office decor products, as well as great gift ideas for every special occasion….just need ideas as to how to market this without it costing an arm and a leg….am working on a limited budget. The idea is to MAKE money with it, NOT SPEND every dime I have just to get it marketed and ranked on the Search Engines. If anyone out there has resources for excellent internet marketing, that is reputable, NOT SCAMS, and is easy to understand for the beginner, let me know! I know amazon.com has several books you can get, such as "Search Engine Optimization for dummies", or "keywords for dummies"…may have to go with that for now, to save on my expenses…already put TOO much into this project to give up on it….getting several hits a day to the site, but still no significant sales….any help I can get out there would be greatly appreciated. debs3
You can do it for free no problem but it will require a little time on your part.
First you need to get two books from the library:
Designing with Web Standards http://www.zeldman.com/dwws/
Don't make me think http://www.sensible.com/buythebook.html
Reading and understanding these two books alone will put you ahead of 99.9% of webdesigners.
Then you need to read a free, reliable and up to date SEO tutorial. There are only two of these on the web that are considered worth reading.
http://www.seomoz.org/article/beginners-guide-to-search-engine-optimization
http://www.seo-blog.com/tutorial.php
That's it! Read, learn and implement.
Good luck!

Do you know how to solve the following search engine optimization?
06.December, 2008
When you go to Yahoo or Google, and search for a keyword you will see the result (a link) with a description.
Example: When you search CNN at Yahoo and Google you will get the following descriptions.
At Yahoo:
CNN
Latest headlines from CNN, the Cable News Network, including World, U.S., politics, business, entertainment, science, weather, and sports news.
www.cnn.com
At Google:
CNN
CNN.com delivers the latest breaking news and information on the latest top stories, weather, business, entertainment, politics, and more.
www.cnn.com
I would like to know how can I add a description of my site like that. Please note that I already try
<meta name="Description" content=" "/>
But I noticed that it does not work perfectly. In others, Google does not recognize this. So, do you know how to fix this?
Yes, you are absolutely right. Google is a search engine and has its own algorithm to rank and list websites in search results. Also we know that Google does not consider meta tags, only title tag that you add before meta. But from where does the description comes? Google matches your title tag with the we page content and generates results, not sure but display of description can be controlled by modifying HTML tags, but this requires deep knowledge.
Yahoo is very much meta Dependant and considerss meta description.

What is the significance of keyword effectiveness index in search engine optimization ?
14.November, 2008
Is it right to select the keyword which has got high keyword effectiveness index for Search Engine Optimization ?
It is important to know your keywords. If you have a product that you sell on your site, ask five friends what they might search for on Google/yahoo to find it. Take those different keywords and optimize your page with them.
Also work on your meta tags. Here is an article on how they work: http://www.richkahmer.com/meta-tags.html
